This week the Dicebreaker Podcast team is joined by Ross from More Games Please, a website and Twitch channel that dives into board game artwork. Alongside Ross is this week’s illustrious host Wheels, as well as Lolies and Liv. After welcoming their guest, the team discusses what they’ve been playing lately, with Ross highlighting their recent exploits with Under Falling Skies and the app-assisted board game Chronicles of Crime 1900. Meanwhile, Wheels talks about his - and our - time with the angsty teenage RPG Monsterhearts 2, Liv chats Star Realms and D&D Icewind Dale and Lolies...talks Football?
The quartet also takes some time to speculate about the recently announced Dungeons & Dragons: Forgotten Realms sets for Magic: The Gathering in this episode’s news section, speculating what players could expect from the addition of dungeon-delving into the trading card game. Otherwise, the latest roleplaying game co-created by Banana Chan - the co-designer of Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall - called Deimos Academy comes up in discussion, with the team gushing over the title’s concept and comparing it to the video game Layers of Fear.
Finally, the group moves onto the silliest segment of the podcast - the part where they play a ridiculous game that baffles and bamboozles their guest. This week, the group takes turns reading out a vague description of a board game cover, with the others attempting to guess what it is using said description. Yes, Camel Up: Second Edition comes up in discussion - once again - with the gang blundering through with some very interesting guesses that, at times, defy human comprehension.
