Zombie Princess and the Enchanted Maze’s damsel in distress is just hungry for flesh
Heroes feast.
Escape the clutches of a presumed damsel in distress who’s out for blood in Zombie Princess and the Enchanted Maze.
Despite arriving at the maze with the intention of rescuing its inhabitant, the knights - or player characters - must run for their lives in Zombie Princess and the Enchanted Maze. An upcoming board game for two to five players, the tabletop title takes place in a continuously shifting maze containing a zombified princess who is on the hunt for human flesh. In order to escape a terrible fate, the players must navigate through the maze without coming across the undead royal, placing and rotating tiles in order to open up a pathway out.
Players will need to cross the maze to get their hands on the key to the castle. However, their opponents will be attempting to slow them down and even stick the zombie princess on them. During each player’s turn, they will be able to roll a die to determine whether they’ll have the opportunity to control the zombie princess herself. Should the flesh-hungry woman get her hands on one of the knights, they’ll be bitten and turned into a member of the undead themselves - with their new objective being to hunt down the other players.
Whoever manages to survive long enough to grab a key and reach the 3D castle at the centre of the board becomes the winner. However, should all the knights become zombie chow, then the game ends and no winner is crowned.
Zombie Princess and the Enchanted Maze was created by Andrew Beardsley, with this being the designer’s debut board game.
Wizkids, the studio responsible for publishing Zombie Princess and the Enchanted Maze, is best known for releasing titles such as the horror board game Fury of Dracula: Fourth Edition, as well as the deckbuilding game Mage Knight - which has players competing to gather the most renown in their quest across a dark fantasy world - and the Heroclix series of miniature games.
Zombie Princess and the Enchanted Maze is set to be released this August at a retail price of $39.99 (£28).
