OSR Humble Bundle includes RPGs and adventures inspired by old-school Dungeons & Dragons

Includes Swords & Wizardry, based on D&D's 1974 rules.

A new Humble Bundle includes OSR roleplaying games, adventures and more inspired by the earliest editions of Dungeons & Dragons.

OSR stands for Old-School Revival, referring to a genre of RPGs that aim to recreate the rules and feel of original Dungeons & Dragons and other roleplaying games released in the 1970s, compared to their more modern editions.

The OSR Humble Bundle’s lowest tier - available from just 76p - includes the complete core rulebook for Swords & Wizardry, an RPG based on D&D’s original 1974 rules and taking into account supplements released for the fantasy RPG between then and 1978.

For that price, you’ll also get the Player’s Handbook for Castles & Crusades, a setting-free variant of the d20 system that powers Dungeons & Dragons. The tier also includes a number of adventures compatible with D&D, Swords & Wizardry, Castles & Crusades and other OSR games, as well as a map pack to use during sessions.

For just over £6, you’ll add more than a dozen additional adventures to your collection, including solo quests, plus extra maps, players’ guides and more. The supplements include Flavour Text Adventures - supplements that include both game content and a real-life recipe, including Cooking Owlbear. (The real-life recipe is not for Owlbear.)

£11.41 and up will get you everything the bundle has to offer, throwing in a map pack, fiction collection and multiple supplements for city guide Bard’s Gate. There’s also the entire The Long Night of Winter adventure arc for the Northlands Saga setting, the complete rules for megadungeon Barrowmaze - along with a poster map of the dungeon - and new retro-flavoured zine The Phylactery, alongside further adventures, maps and supplements.

All of the books are offered as DRM-free digital PDFs, with their total combined cost normally being $644 according to Humble. As with all Humble Bundles, you can name your price, with a split of the money going toward Humble, RPG publisher Frog God Games and a charity - in this case, the Navy Marine Corps Relief.

The OSR Humble Bundle will be available until late September.
