She is Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Washington in Seattle and the author of numerous books and articles, including Little White Houses: How the Postwar Home Constructed Race in America (2013). Harris is a past president of the Society of Architectural Historians and is series editor for the Culture, Politics, and the Built Environment series at the University of Pittsburgh Press.
